Privacy Policy

For the Nerkheh Rooz iOS app and the nerkhehrooz.com website. Last updated: July 16, 2026.

The short version: Nerkheh Rooz has no accounts and asks for nothing about you personally — no name, no email, no phone number, no location permission. We record anonymous usage (which screens and articles are opened, and for how long) against a random ID the app makes up for itself, plus your IP address and the country it maps to. We use that only to improve the app. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with data brokers. The app shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects its own data under Google's policy — that part is described below.

Who we are

Nerkheh Rooz is an independent app that displays real-time prices for currencies, gold, cryptocurrencies, vehicles, and global markets, along with economic news. It is free, has no in-app purchases, and is funded by advertising. The app and its servers are operated by the developer of Nerkheh Rooz, who can be reached at nerkhehrooz@gmail.com. The analytics described here run on our own server — they are not a third-party analytics product.

What the app collects, and why

A random installation ID

A UUID the app generates on first launch and stores on the device. It lets us count how many people use the app without knowing who they are. It is not the IDFA, not your Apple ID, and not tied to any account.

Screens you open and how long you stay

So we can see which parts of the app are useful and which are not (for example: currency, gold, news).

Which articles and price pages you open

So we can see which news and which assets people actually read, and publish more of what is useful.

App version, iOS version, device model

So we can reproduce bugs and know which iOS versions we still need to support. The device model is the hardware type ("iPhone15,3"), never a serial number.

IP address, and the country derived from it

To know roughly which countries our users are in, and to protect the service from abuse. We do not derive your city, your street, or your precise location, and the app never asks for location permission.

Because this information is stored against a persistent installation ID and an IP address, we treat it as linked to you in Apple's terms, and label it that way on the App Store — even though we have no way to turn it into your name. We do not use any of it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

What we never collect

Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
Any account — the app has no sign-up and no login.
Your precise location. The app never requests location permission.
Your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendar, or health data.
Any financial account, payment card, or transaction. The app displays prices only; it cannot buy or sell anything.

Advertising

The app is free because it shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob is operated by Google, collects its own data, and is governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one.

On first launch, iOS asks whether Nerkheh Rooz may track you across other companies' apps and websites. This is Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and it exists so ads can be personalised.

If you say no (or ignore it), your device's advertising identifier is not used, and you will see non-personalised ads. Nothing else in the app changes, and no feature is withheld.
If you say yes, Google may use your advertising identifier to personalise ads.

You can change your mind at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Your answer to that prompt has no effect on the anonymous analytics described above, which are collected either way.

Who your data is shared with

We do not sell your data, and we do not give it to data brokers or advertisers. It is shared with exactly two third parties, both for a specific technical reason:

Google AdMob — to serve the ads that fund the app, as described above.
ip-api.com — when we first see a new installation, we send its IP address to this service once, purely to learn which country it is in. We send nothing else: no installation ID, no screen names, nothing about what you read. We store only the two-letter country code it returns.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

Individual usage events (a screen opened, an article read) are deleted automatically after 18 months.
"Currently online" records, which include your IP, are deleted within one hour of you closing the app.
Anonymous daily totals (for example "412 people opened the app on this day") are kept indefinitely. They are counts only and cannot be traced back to an individual installation.

Your rights, and how to delete your data

You can erase everything we hold for your installation at any time, without contacting us: delete the app. The installation ID is stored inside the app, so removing the app destroys it, and nothing left on our server can be connected back to you or to a reinstall. Reinstalling generates a brand-new random ID and starts from zero.

If you are in the EU, the UK, or anywhere with similar law, you also have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it erased. Email nerkhehrooz@gmail.com and we will action it within 30 days. Note that we can only identify your records if you can tell us your installation ID or the IP address you used — we genuinely have nothing else to look you up by.

We rely on legitimate interest (understanding how our own app is used, and keeping it working) as the basis for the analytics described here, and on your consent for personalised advertising.

Children

Nerkheh Rooz is a financial information app intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and you want their data removed, email us and we will remove it.

Security, and where your data lives

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. The data is held on our own server, reachable only by the developer, and is not stored on any third-party analytics platform. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold as little as possible — which is the most effective protection we can offer you.

Important: this app is informational only

Nerkheh Rooz displays prices and market trends. It is not a platform for buying, selling, trading, or any transaction, it holds no funds, and it processes no payments. Prices are provided for information only and are not financial advice.

Changes, and contact

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the app's App Store privacy labels as well.
